Let's enjoy diversity

India is a large country spread over an area of 31.66 lac sq kms. Whereas one end touches the seas the other is under the shadows of snow clad Himalayas. And within these two ends are plains, rivers, hills, jungles, mountains and desert too.
All these are enjoyable- the snow, the sand, the sea & the beaches. Isn't it?

Here on this land live millions. They are of various hues and are of different ethnicity. They follow different faiths, religions, sects and rituals. There are believers & there are non-believers. They speak in many dialects & languages. They wear variety of colourful clothes. They eat variety of food.
All this is enjoyble - the faiths, the languages, the attire & the food. Isn't it?

Traders were here  - Arabs, Romans, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, Jews, Parsees, Moghuls & British. Some left & some got assimilated in this land. Traders & settlers from this land reached up to Afghanistan, Burma,Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia & Indonesia.
Fascinating history. Isn't it?

Right up to Independence there were frequent historical events in & around Cochin
The stone at Cochin Fort says it all
Boundaries changed over the years due to Nawabs, Rajas, Gorkhas, East India Company & of course British Raj
And finally in the words of Mark Twain:
India is the cradle of human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend and great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only.
