Long drive to Delhi - 19 : Towards Murudeshwara, Karnataka

From Kasargod we said bye to Kerala & proceeded towards Udupi, Karnataka. We bypassed Mangalore as we had been there in our earlier driving tour of Karnataka & we had little interest in tall buildings & big malls compared to tall trees & green jungles!

Udupi was a sweet surprise as it is nice town with lots of options of hotels & restaurants. This place has medical & many technical colleges & has a metropolitan touch. Free cool sea breeze supply is assured round the clock here!

Suggestions from local people made us visit Murudeshwara which turned out to be more than we had wished for. More on Murudeshwara Temple shall follow in next photo-blog. Here are some random pics taken on the way before finding shelter for the night in Murudeshwara.

Leaving Kerala behind & entering in to Karnataka

Intermittent rains & continuous drive on potholed roads brought The Buggy to workshop in Kundapura for wheel balancing /alignment. Other than this we had no problem with Alto 800 covering over 5000 km in a month
Where are you going today?

Murudeshwara Sea Beach. As soon as fishing boat returns with catch, the fish gets auctioned there & then. The lady & her husband seem to be taking charge of the catch
The sea came closer to the NH 17 on several spots

Dark monsoon clouds threaten a fishing village - view from the sea side restaurant

This small but good restaurant is in fact on pillars submerged in sea water near Murudeshwara Temple
